TAG3 Partner Spotlight: Thrombolex™
How TAG3 served as a value-added strategic partner to Thrombolex™ throughout various stages of the product development process.
“TAG3 has served as a value-added strategic partner to Thrombolex throughout various stages of our product development process. They effectively led the design, 3D prototyping, and development for the handle for the BASHIR™ Endovascular Catheter. Our handle integrates a guidewire port, actuator to expand and retract the infusion basket, infusion line, infusion port, and strap buckle. They also played a crucial role in identifying a cost-effective injection molding partner for the handle. “

“For MedTech companies working to bring new products to market there is an FDA requirement to demonstrate safety and efficacy. The first step in this process is the development and execution of a robust verification testing and validation (“V&V”) testing protocol. TAG 3 served as Thrombolex‘s engineering partner to help us effectively navigate the regulatory environment and to ensure our platform technology was compliant with all relevant V&V testing standards. This offered us greater predictability in the execution of our development process and led us to a timelier start of our clinical study execution. Their efforts helped us to reduce technical risks and build confidence in the design approach with each incremental milestone achieved.”

The BASHIR™ Endovascular Catheter uses a unique combination of both mechanical and pharmacological therapy to resolve thrombus. Targeted thrombolytics are delivered from the expandable infusion basket enabling the immediate restoration of blood flow and optimal resolution of arterial and venous thrombus.

Infusion Basket Length | 10cm | 12.5cm | |
Infusion Basket Diameter | 45mm | 2.3mm |
The BASHIR™ Plus Family of Endovascular Catheter enables restoration of blood flow in peripheral vessels with extensive thrombus burden. The catheters deliver thrombolytics through the expandable infusion basket and along a segment of the distal catheter shaft. The BASHIR™ Plus Family of Endovascular Catheters are available with various lengths of infusion segments. The basket and catheter shaft infusion segments each has a separate infusion line located on the catheter handle.
The BASHIR™ Plus Endovascular Catheter has the same basket open and closed specifications. It is available with +10, +20, +30 and +40cm infusion segments. |
The BASHIR™ S-B Endovascular Catheter enables the immediate restoration of blood flow within shorter peripheral and pulmonary vessels and adapts to the unique anatomical variance of each patient. The catheter’s shorter expandable infusion basket allows a controlled and selective infusion of physician-specified fluids, including thrombolytics.
